2024 7075 Aircraft Aluminum Sheet

Aerospace grade aluminum is an aluminum alloy designed for aerospace applications. It is known for its high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and durability, which are essential for the harsh conditions of flight and space travel. It enables aircraft manufacturers to build aircraft with higher fuel efficiency, higher structural integrity, and higher safety.

2024 aluminum is one of the most widely used aluminum alloys in the aviation and mechanical industries at home and abroad. The aluminum plates and profiles of this alloy have been successfully applied to aircraft structural parts, such as skins, wing beams, etc. For thin plates used in the natural state, aluminum-clad plates should be used for parts with strict requirements on corrosion resistance.

AW2024 t3 aluminum alloy has become one of the preferred materials for many aviation manufacturers. Good fatigue performance is another highlight of 2024-T3 alloy. Under the action of cyclic stress, many materials will gradually crack and fail, but 2024-T3 can effectively resist this fatigue damage and maintain long-term stable performance.

2024 t4 aluminum alloy is naturally aged after solution treatment. In the T4 state, the alloy has high strength and good corrosion resistance, but the hardness and strength are relatively low, which is suitable for occasions requiring corrosion resistance.

7075 aluminum plate’s excellent performance is mainly due to its special alloy composition. Zinc is the main alloying element in 7075 aluminum sheet. By adding magnesium to the alloy containing 3%-7.5% zinc, MgZn2 with significant strengthening effect is formed, which greatly improves the heat treatment effect of the alloy. At the same time, a small amount of alloying elements such as copper and chromium are added to 7075 aluminum sheet, and the addition of these elements further improves the performance of the material.

7075 t6 matweb has the highest mechanical strength properties, but low fracture toughness, and is sensitive to stress corrosion. Because its toughness decreases with decreasing temperature, 7075-t6 aluminum is not suitable for manufacturing low temperature structural parts and work pieces.

7075 aluminum has good machinability in the annealed condition and exhibits little or no warping during age hardening. Its corrosion resistance is good and is further improved by heat treatment and aging. The alloy resists stress corrosion cracking in the 7075-T73 condition. Al-7075 can be resistance welded, but fusion welding is generally not recommended.
