Aluminum alloy is the most widely used non-ferrous metal structural material n aviation, aerospace, automobile, machinery manufacturing, shipbuilding and chemical industries. According to the different alloy materials, aluminum alloys can be divided into 1 series to 9 series.
The 6000 series aluminum alloys use magnesium and silicon as the main alloying elements and are currently the most widely used alloys. The 7 series aluminum alloy is mainly composed of zinc, and a small amount of magnesium and copper are added. The hardness of the super hard aluminum alloy is closer to the hardness of steel.
7075 sheet is a typical alloy of 7xxx aluminum alloy containing zinc. It is a heat-treatable alloy. The strengthening mechanism is precipitation strengthening, and the strengthening phase is MgZn2. The content of Zn element is currently up to 8% or more.
High content of Zn element is beneficial to increase the strength of the alloy. It has the advantages of high strength, high elastic modulus, low density, good wear resistance and weldability, but poor corrosion resistance.
7075 Aluminum material properties
1. High strength and high hardness. Its main alloy element is Zn and small amount of magnesium and copper. The hardness is closer to the hardness of steel. It is is not easy to bend when subjected to external forces.
2. Lighter material. Compared with stainless steel, 7075 can reduce the weight by up to 30% while providing the same strength.
3. Better bending resistance: iPhone 6 and 6s made of 7075 aluminum bending test results show that the new iPhone 6s rear case can withstand 80 pounds (about 36 kilograms) of pressure. It will not easily bend unless you destroy it violently.
