2A12 aluminum is a kind of high-strength hard aluminum, which can be strengthened by heat treatment. It has moderate plasticity under annealing, fresh quenching and hot conditions. It has good spot weldability. It has a tendency to form intergranular cracks when using gas welding and argon arc welding.
The machinability after quenching and cold work hardening is still good, but it is not good in the annealed state. The corrosion resistance is not high, and anodizing treatment and painting methods are often used to improve its corrosion resistance.
2A12 Aluminum is used for the production of various high-load parts and structural parts (but not stamping forgings) such as aircraft fuselage parts, skins, bulkhead, ribs, spars, rivets and other working parts below 150℃.
